Want to hear the mechanical sound from your original Apple II drive with your drive emulator? The Disk Clicker uses a mechanical sounder to provide sound similar to disk drive head movements. It is compatible with many popular 5.25″ Apple floppy disk emulators (such as Gotek HxD and FloppyEmu). The Disk Clicker attaches inline with your existing drive emulator cable, using the provided 10 inch extension cable.
The Disk Clicker features a selectable jumper that allows the “clicking” sound to follow the connected drive only, or to follow *both* drives connected to the disk controller card. This means one Disk Clicker device can generate sound for both Disk 1 and Disk 2, and for emulators that support dual drive operation (such as a FloppyEmu in dual 140K drive mode).
The Disk Clicker sounds whenever the emulated disk steps from one track to the next. The Disk Clicker is not intended to operate with SmartPort devices, but nothing will be damaged if you try.
